With a legal career beginning with in-house positions at large, international financial services firms, then as a member in the corporate group of a large Chicago law firm for 20+ years, Mr. Davis concentrates his practice on representing corporations, financial institutions, public bodies and individuals in all aspects of technology licensing and transactions, e‑commerce, e‑fulfillment, eLearning, mergers and acquisitions, data privacy, cybersecurity, regulatory matters, FinTech, corporate finance arrangements and general corporate matters.
Mr. Davis has served as principal counsel for both vendors and users of information technology products and services throughout his career. Supported by his years of experience in all aspects of IT matters, he regularly advises firm clients on technology development and commercialization, data processing, software development, software licensing, outsourcing, third-party logistics, IT transition services, multimedia content acquisition and distribution, general consulting and strategic alliances. Mr. Davis also possesses a wealth of experience advising clients in the heavily regulated financial services and health care fields.
Mr. Davis has written and spoken extensively on a variety of topics relating to information technology, corporate transactions, data privacy, and records management.
Mr. Davis is a member of the American Bar Association and is active in several charitable organizations, including The Michael A. DeStefano Foundation and Possibilities Theatre Company. He has also been selected by his peers as a Leading Lawyer in Computer & Technology Law and Data Privacy Law from 2013 to 2020. Additionally, Mr. Davis has been recognized as a Distinguished Faculty Member for Lorman Education Services.
